- Mrs. Szmuklerman was possibly from Ostrowiec, Poland. Her grandparents were named Chil and Hindle. She and her husband, Tanchen, were living in the American occupied zone of Munich in the mid-1940s.
- Scope and Content
- File consists of a letter from Mrs. Szmuklerman in Munich, Germany, to an aunt and uncle, dated 29 July 1946. In this letter, she provides details about her family background and writes about family members sent to the camps during the war. She mentions her recent marriage and writes that her husband's family has sent them emigration paperwork with the hope that they will be able to travel to America. She writes that she and her husband are living with her uncle Kril and his children and requests that the recipients write to them. An envelope with multiple stamps and postmarks is included. File also contains a typed translation.
