- Accession consists of a stapled booklet honouring Meir Weiss (July 19, 1954-Oct. 16, 1973). It contains letters in Hebrew (with English translations) from Meir to his family while he was in the Israeli Army. Included is a letter from his best friend while in the army, explaining how Meir died in the Yom Kippur War, and letters of condolences and tributes addressed to his parents, from then president Ephriam Katzir, commander-in- chief, Izhak Mordehai and from the IDF.
The booklet was compiled by Miriam Schai with the assistance of Yosef and Sarah Shoham.
- Administrative History
- Meir Weiss was born July 19, 1954 to Rabbi Abraham Yehuda L. Weiss and Sarah Weiss (née Kesler). Rabbi Weiss was a Holocaust survivor who lost his family during the war. Meir graduated from The United Talmud Torah School, Toronto. He enlisted in the Israeli army. He is buried in Israel.

- Herbert J. Weiss was born in 1903, to Mr. and Mrs. Barnet Weiss. He was married to Lillian Weiss and had two children: David and Linda. Weiss was an insurance broker and manager at Dominion Life. He was founder and first president of the Baycrest Men's Service Group, and was active in the Goel Tzedec Junior League, B'nai Brith and the United Jewish Appeal. He was also a member of Holy Blossom Temple. He died on 14 June 1974, at the age of 71.

- Allan Grossman was born in 1910 to Morris and Sarah Grossman. He married Ethel Starkman and they had three children named Denyse, Larry and Susan. Allan Grossman was president of the Allan Grossman Insurance Services Ltd. He was involved in political life in Canada holding positions as Alderman, Council member for Metro Toronto, elected member of Ontario Legislature, and in 1960 he was appointed Minister without portfolio. He was re-appointed to Provincial Cabinet as Chairman of the Ontario Liquor Control Board.
