- Mendel Heiwenmann (b.1916) was born in Ostrowiec to parents Jakob and Cyria (née Stein). After surviving the Dachau concentration camp, Mendel and his wife, Dora, were living in the Feldafing displaced persons camp in Germany.
- Alternate spellings of his surname include Hajwenmann and Heiwenmann.

- File consists of correspondence from Mendal Heiwenmann in Feldafing, Germany, to family. A black-and-white photograph of the writer is included. File also contains a typed translation.

- Rabbi Krivy came from Vilna. He was a shochet and teacher who served in Welland and Galt, Ontario, and by 1911, in Cobalt. Around 1917, he moved to Kitchener. He later moved to Toronto and opened a butcher shop at Dundas Street and Kensington Avenue. His store was subsequently bought by Barenholtz.
