- 1 audio reel (6 min., 8 sec.) : polyester, 7 1/2 ips, 1 track, mono ; 1/4 in.
- Scope and Content
- Item consists of a recording of the Canada-Israel Committee segment, presented by Paul Michaels. Inspired by a Toronto Star editorial titled "A Message to Israel," which was highly unfavourable to Israel's occupation of the West Bank, Michaels traces a historical panorama of the Arab-Israeli conflicts in the area since the 1947 UN resolution allowing the creation of the state of Israel. He blames Egypt and Jordan for the situation of Palestinian refugees in Gaza and the West Bank, respectively; comments on the occupation by Israel of the West Bank (from Jordan), Gaza (from Egypt), and the Golan Heights (from Syria), and claims that the occupation has brought development to these areas; and recognizes the frustration of Palestinians over the non-advancement of negotiations and their yearn for a national identity, but blames the impass on the Arab leaders for their refusal to recognize the state of Israel and for their belligerency, which stall negotiations.

- The Budget Committee was formed in 1934 based on a recommendation by the Executive Committee and was adopted by the FJPT Board of Trustees in January 1934. It appears to have been created to deal with the ongoing financial crisis of the FJPT caused by the expanded service demands and vastly reduced collections resulting from the economic collapse caused by the Great Depression. Its mandate was to examine in detail the proposed budgets of its affiliated organizations in order to identify whether adequate value was received in relation to the funds expended and, furthermore, to evaluate the relative importance of the benefits each affiliate delivered.
- Although the FJPT was absorbed into the UJWF in 1938, memos specifying details of internal organization and pay scales continued until January 1939, when separate FJPT bank accounts and bookkeeping were eliminated, and all such responsibilities came under the Budget and Finance Committee of the UJWF.
- Scope and Content
- Series consists of meeting minutes of, and annual budgets prepared by, the Budget Committee. Included within are the budgets of member agencies financed by the FJPT.

- Famous Players Canada was founded as a Canadian branch of the Famous-Players-Lasky Corporation (the precursor of Paramount Pictures) in 1920, when it merged with the Toronto based Regent Theatres. Over the next two decades, efforts were made by President N. L. Nathanson to wrestle control of Famous Players Canada from Paramount, but he ultimately failed. Famous Players Canada would remain a subsidiary of the American owned Paramount (which was purchased by Viacom in 1994) until 2005, when it was purchased by Cineplex Galaxy for 500 million dollars.
- Scope and Content
- File contains floor plans of two different schemes for a proposed new headquarters of Famous Players Canada. The proposed building was to be three storeys high, containing many offices and a screening room. The plans appear to be in the preliminary stages and contain no addresses on them. It is unknown if these plans were ever implemented. File also contains a floor plan of Famous Players Canada offices on the twelfth floor of the Royal Bank Building.
